Person-Centred Psychotherapy and Counselling
As a psychotherapist and counsellor, my purpose is to be alongside you. To listen without judgement, communicate empathy and hold a space where healing can occur.
You might have experienced a recent significant or life changing event. You may have a sense of feeling confused, something just not feeling right and it’s keeping you stuck or going round in circles.
It might be that you want to understand the experiences that have influenced and shaped you to be who you are.
Whatever has brought you here today and your reasons for considering therapy, we will work with what you feel comfortable in sharing and bringing to your sessions .
If you need a space to talk things through first, feel free to get in touch at any time and we will arrange a free, 20-minute chat. I work from a beautiful location near Salisbury, working with clients from across the Wiltshire area and online with clients UK wide.
How I Work
As a Person-Centred psychotherapist and counsellor, I take care to respect you as an individual. We will work collaboratively, building a trusting therapeutic relationship to allow you to explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions.
It is not that I will tell you what to do but rather be alongside and with you, every step of the way. Helping you to become more self-aware and notice and understand why you might have encountered certain difficulties.
Over time, you will develop greater awareness and discover your own abilities and self-knowledge to cope with current and future problems.
If you are anxious, depressed, or suffer from any trauma-related issue, it can sometimes be helpful to understand the reasons for the response behind the feelings you have. That is why I sometimes include psychoeducation, helping you to notice the patterns in your mind and body and where you can then choose to do something differently.

How We Can Work Together
If you have never received therapy before, over Zoom or on the telephone can be a good way to start. You may be nervous about reaching out and talking through difficult emotions, which is totally understandable. Doing so from the comfort of your own home can make that a bit easier. It is also much more convenient, as we can more easily work sessions into your busy schedule.

Sitting in a room for some people can sometimes feel a bit intense, so one option is to take your therapy outside and go for a walk. Which simply means that we can walk and talk without the restriction of being inside or in front of a computer screen. This allows us to bring nature and movement into your sessions if this would be more comfortable for you.
